About this listing

5 Bed House, Derby
Parking available

Breedon Hall is a discrete and private home, nestled in the centre of the village but is very secluded behind its high walls. The property itself mainly dates from 1777 though the core of the house is much earlier. Rooms are spacious, with tall sash windows and even taller ceilings. We have, during our restoration, tried hard to return many of its period features that were removed in its previous guise as a corporate HQ, and we pay especial attention to comfort and modern-day conveniences (eg. wi-fi available throughout).

We can either let rooms individually (as we are already a B&B) or we will let the entire house if required and by arrangement.

Outside there is ample & secure parking, either outside, or for valuable vehicles, lockable within our large coach house which can take two cars.

We also have 3, two-bedroom townhouses, a recent conversion from a 17th century stable block, for rental.

Things to do nearby

We are approximately 5 minutes drive from both Donington Park Race Circuit and East Midlands airport. We are approx 15 mins drive from Junction 24 of the M1, and 5 mins further for East Midlands Parkway rail station.

We are located within the National Forest and close to the market towns of Melbourne & Ashby de la Zouch.

A local bus service stops meters from our front gate.

Also just opposite our entrance is a gastro pub, The Three Horseshoes, which also combines a farm shop and a chocolate factory where handmade chocolates are not only made on site but the owners also host chocolate-making courses!

Out of our garden gate you will find The Hollybush Inn, a traditional pub with low beamed ceilings, open fires, guest ales and modestly priced, locally-sourced food.

Next door is the Breedon Priory Golf Club, the Breedon Priory Garden Centre (together with a disparate collection of curio shops, hairdressing salon, antiques, gift & crafts and a 2nd hand book shop_. Oh, and a cafe!

Lastly, and just outside the village at Langley Priory, is The Owl House, a Health & beauty spa that offers the whole range of pampering treatments for men & women.

I'm a 49 year old father of 3 boys - Cosmo, Felix & Hector - and am married to Charlotte, who also happens to be a professional caterer. We share the house with Bullet the dog & Mr Bingo the cat .. and a few goldfish. I've had an early military career, followed by many years in the construction industry as an employee, an sme owner and a consultant. Recently, and after redundancy, I have concentrated, with my wife, on restoring Breedon Hall and putting it on a sustainable, commercial footing My interests & hobbies include field sports, motorcycling, reading, travelling and meeting people (not necessarily in that order!).
